Celebrating Reading & Writing

I have always had a love for reading and writing, and as a teacher, I will aspire to instill that love in my students. When it comes to children’s literacy development, I understand the importance of reading and writing every day and referring to your students as “readers” and “writers;” if your students are to see themselves as readers and writers, you must first show them you believe in them. As teachers, we must see and appreciate what our students can do, recognizing their efforts and celebrating their achievements. By celebrating children’s efforts, we show them what we value and what we see as worthwhile.
